You are not left to work the app out yourself. We set the system up, put the app on your phone, show you how to pull up a recording, and check every camera's night picture before we pack up. If you want to watch the install happen, that is fine. If you would rather be at work, we will send photos of each camera position.

Wired, unless there is a genuine reason it cannot be done. Wired cameras run off the one cable for power and data, so there is no battery to climb a ladder for and no Wi-Fi dropouts every time the microwave runs. In a brick or rendered home the cable runs are hidden in the roof space or the wall cavity and stay there.

Wireless has its place. Rented places, sheds well away from the house, or a single camera over a back gate where running a cable costs more than the camera. We will tell you which one your house suits rather than which one is easier for us.

Yes, and without patching afterwards in most cases. The cable goes through the roof space, down the wall cavity, or under the floor. We use existing penetrations where we can and drill new ones only where there is no other path. If we do drill, it is one hole through brick and it gets sealed.

The places that need more thought are raked ceilings, rendered walls with no cavity, and extensions where someone has already sealed everything up. We look at those on site and tell you honestly what is possible before you commit.

Recording does not need the internet. Your recorder stores footage on its own hard drive, so the system keeps filming through an NBN outage, a router restart, or a Telstra problem down the street. You just cannot watch it from your phone while the connection is down.

You need internet for remote viewing and phone alerts. If you also run a mobile backup or a 4G route, the alerts keep coming even when the fixed line is out. Worth having if you travel and rely on the cameras to check on the house.

Yes. We mount and cable customer supplied systems, and we have worked with Swann, Arlo, Nest and Uniden gear. Be aware of the limit though: most of those kits use a closed app and their own cloud, so we can mount the cameras and get the picture right, but we cannot fix faults inside the manufacturer's software.

If you have bought a kit and the install has you stuck, send through what you have and we will tell you what we can and cannot do with it. Usually it is a straight answer on the phone.
